Summary

If you or your team are working with people who are at risk from their behaviours this half day learning session is an important step towards supporting your team to enable them to be fit for purpose in this area.

The training provides foundation knowledge alongside offering advice for safe practice. The inclusion of  information and risk management of suicide is an essential addition which may save a life and a great deal of distress.

Learner assignments are included.

Who should attend?

Staff who support service users who are at risk of self harm or suicide.

Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to
  • Understand what constitutes self harm
  • Identify types of self harm
  • know more as to the cause of why people may self harm
  • Be able to carry out a risk management strategy
  • Understand the risk of suicide and be able to implement measure to reduce the risk

 

 

 

How many candidates may attend?
This training is not limited in numbers.

Equivalent Relevant information

1. Certificates are issued for each learner and if dated, are valid to that period.

N.B Learners attending must complete the entire duration of the training to qualify for a certificate.

2. A learner assignment is required post training for audit and PDP purposes.
