This course contributes toward the recommended guided learning hours, you should carry out practice reflection, document and attach subsequent evidence from this training.


The course is designed to provide underpinning knowledge to support workers
to the skills required when caring for individuals who suffer from obsessive
compulsive disorders.

Who should attend?

Staff who are working in functional mental health.

Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to

• An understanding of the overview of OCD
• Understanding basic management
• Understand and define Functional Psychoses
• Be aware of etiology and clinical symptoms
• Associate the condition with their symptoms

• Know where to get further help and advice
• Complete, in small groups, a case study
• Complete a multiple choice audit

2. Certificates are issued for each candidate and are valid for approximately 3 years
3. A candidate assessment is available for post training audit
Included in the session is theory based information that may involve a power point presentation.
The key points to remember are:
1. The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed.
2. Staff should not be expected to be on duty
3. Staff attending must remain for the entire length of the session to receive a certificate .
