This accredited dementia care course contributes toward the
recommended guided learning hours; you should carry out
practice reflection, document and attach subsequent
evidence from this training. The course involves use of the
SFC knowledge sets for Dementia Care and distance
learning dementia care workbook.The course will provide for care managers and key senior care staff an advanced benchmark standard of Dementia
care. Delivery methods will include reflective practice, intervention tools, group
work, case studies and visual presentation- Who should attend?
This training is relevant to RGN/ RMN/ RN/ CQSW / NVQ or senior key workers
with an existing understanding of dementia care and who may be responsible
for planning care to individuals in all care settings – hospital, residential, day
care or foster-care or in the client’s own home.- Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to

framework and the role of the manager
2. Understand the legal aspects of dementia care
3. Equality and inclusion issues when planning dementia care
4. Understand the importance of working in a person centered way and
how it links to inclusion

process
7. Using the Kitwood standards as a Benchmark
8. Working with dementia care mapping
9. Administering medication in dementia care
10. Mental capacity Act and its implications for dementia care

The key points to remember are:
